• Abstinence is the decision not to participate in ANY sexual activity until marriage.
• Renewed Abstinence, also known as secondary virginity, simply means that you realized that you were not ready for sex and you made the decision not to participate in any sexual activity again until marriage.
• If you are not having pre-marital sex that doesn’t mean that there is something wrong with you, you are completely normal.
• By not having sex outside of marriage you can be 100% sure that you will not contract a STD or become pregnant.
• By remaining abstinent you can focus on your life goals and not have to constantly worry about the consequences that come along with sex at an early age.

I pledge to abstain from sexual activity until marriage, and this is the only proven way to protect myself from out of wedlock pregnancy and STDs.

Making this pledge shows that you care enough about yourself and your future partner that you are going to save sex until the perfect time- marriage.

By making the pledge you also show everyone else that you truly value yourself and want others to respect and honor your decision.

• Be a good example and friend! Choose your friends wisely. A good friend is someone who shares your values and wants the best for you.
• Stay Strong! Beware of negative peer pressure
• Be Yourself! Stand up for what you believe in. Be your own person and do what’s right for you.
• Get Involved! Get involved in your school/community. Find out what your talents are and use them.
• Avoid Risky Behaviors! “Risky Behaviors” include things such as alcohol, smoking, drugs, violence, and sex.
• Set Goals! Plan for the future!
• Be Confident! Take pride in the fact that you choose to WAIT to have sex.
